On small systems, APR Control fits both ways: retrofit onto the equipment you already run, or built into new equipment by OEMs, contractors, and third-party modifiers, with no design-day capacity penalty.
Small residential systems short cycle too
Oversizing and short cycling are not only a large-tonnage problem. Small packaged and split systems are frequently oversized for the spaces they serve, and they cycle hard: quick to satisfy, quick to shut off, and hard on the compressor. APR Control brings continuous capacity modulation to systems as small as 1.5 tons.
APR Control on Small Systems
On small systems, APR Control is sized to the lead compressor by Rawal Devices Engineering. It runs the unit at part load instead of cycling, for the same reliability and humidity benefits on a smaller footprint, with no impact on the unit's rated capacity during design day conditions. Compatible with R-410A, R-454B, and R-32, plus legacy refrigerants such as R-22.
