Overcome Thermostat Limitations
Why a thermostat alone can’t fix comfort and humidity, and how the APR Control can.

In this video
A thermostat can only start and stop the compressor — it cannot reduce capacity. On part-load days it satisfies temperature quickly and shuts off before the coil removes much moisture, leaving the space cool but humid. The APR Control adds the capacity modulation a thermostat cannot provide, working alongside the existing controls.
Key takeaways
- A thermostat can only cycle the compressor on and off, not modulate capacity
- Short on-cycles satisfy temperature before meaningful dehumidification occurs
- Longer, modulated run-time is what removes latent moisture
- APR Control works alongside existing controls to extend run-time
