Marco's Pizza: Capacity Control Without the Lead Time
Expanding across Houston, Marco's Pizza used APR Controls to get factory-reheat-like humidity control on standard equipment, skipping the 30 to 54 week lead times that threatened their deadlines.

The Challenge
Marco's Pizza was expanding multiple Houston-area locations through renovations and new construction. Some spaces had oversized existing equipment while others needed new systems. As a restaurant running exhaust systems, they anticipated humidity issues that would affect occupant comfort and food production. Equipment lead times made it worse: 30-plus weeks for standard units, and nearly 54 weeks with factory-installed hot gas reheat, putting the project schedule at risk.
The Solution
Their MEP consultant, Teeter Engineering, specified Rawal APR Controls. The APR Control provides the same capacity modulation and humidity mitigation as factory-installed hot gas reheat, but it is field-installed on existing equipment or standard off-the-shelf units, eliminating the extended lead times and added cost.
The Results
Marco's completed the multi-location expansion on schedule, and:
- Achieved reliable, cost-effective capacity modulation across franchises
- Held precise temperature and humidity for comfort and food production
- Avoided the 30 to 54 week equipment lead times
- Used one design approach on both existing and new equipment
