Energy Efficiency
Energy Efficiency at Part Load
Roughly 90% of operating hours are part load. APR Control delivers 16% lower compressor power draw at part load (manufacturer lab testing).
Almost all the hours are part load
Roughly 90% of operating hours are part load, not design day. That is where the energy story lives. An oversized unit that cycles carries the losses of frequent restarts; a modulating unit does not.
16% lower compressor power at part load
In manufacturer lab testing on a two-stage constant-volume unit, the modulated stage drew 16% less compressor power at part load: 2,153 W against 2,503 W, measured (manufacturer lab testing). Because the unit runs longer at reduced capacity instead of overshooting and cycling, it keeps delivering useful cooling at part load instead of short-cycling.
Pair with a supply-fan VFD
Where a supply-fan VFD is applied, pairing it with APR Control cuts fan energy 40 to 60% at part load (modeled, disclosed). Every assumption in our estimator is visible and qualified.
