Rooftop Units (RTU)
Packaged rooftop units are the most common home for APR Control. Sized for a design day that happens a few days of the year, RTUs spend most of their life oversized and short cycling. APR Control adds continuous capacity modulation so the unit runs at part load instead of cycling.
New or existing equipment
On rooftop units, APR Control fits both ways: retrofit onto the equipment you already run, or built into new equipment by OEMs, contractors, and third-party modifiers, with no design-day capacity penalty.
Why RTUs
Constant-volume packaged rooftop units cycle on and off to hold the space. APR Control modulates refrigerant flow to match real-time load, sized to the lead compressor, so a standard RTU runs continuously at reduced capacity. Turndown reaches upwards of 80%+ depending on unit configuration, with no impact on the unit's rated capacity during design day conditions.

Longer runtimes hold humidity; fewer compressor starts extend equipment life.
